The Playful Explorer

A day camp for kids aged 6 to 14 with a wonderfully varied programme that excites them. They can look forward to science experiments, nature exploration, creative workshops, thinking activities, interesting games and much more.

A varied, fun programme for active kids! They get to try plenty of activities they wouldn't easily reach otherwise. The programme is built on play, movement and shared experiences, out of which nature exploration, making things and trying new things grow naturally. The goal is for the kids to take home an epic week full of experiences, games, laughter and discoveries of their own.

What can the kids look forward to?

  • Creative workshops. E.g. making your own photo album, creating resin jewellery, or other creative projects where kids get messy, laugh, and take home something they made themselves.
  • Exploring nature outdoors. Expeditions into nature, catching aquatic creatures, netting insects and butterflies, playing in nature and discovering the world around us through play.
  • Exploring nature indoors. Microscope work, simple investigative activities and an optional dissection of an animal that helps kids understand how the body works on the inside.
  • Theatre, dance and circus activities. Active games, improv and goofing around that thrill kids who love to move, dream up silly stuff and enjoy laughing with friends.
  • Lots of goofing around and free play. Playing lasers, water battles, romping on the playground, running, laughter and space to simply play.

Kids can choose what to focus on, and we adapt the programme to their energy, mood and interests.

Throughout the camp the kids have plenty of things on hand to play with at any time, on their own or with others.

  • building sets (Spintronics, Boffin, LEGO)
  • all kinds of board games (e.g. Galaxy Trucker, Cabo, Ticket to Ride and many more)
  • materials for making and crafting (face paints, blow pens and other supplies)

Our approach to children

Read this if it's your first time with us – it will help you understand how we think about children and why we do some things differently.

At our events we share with the children our enthusiasm for the things we love, and together we create an inspiring environment. Children can join in whenever they want – we always offer them help, encouragement and room for their own pace and ideas.

But we never force them into anything. We see them as fully-fledged human beings who have the right to decide how they want to spend their time – even if they just want to step aside for a while or rest with a phone or tablet. Our priority is that they feel good and enjoy what they do, not that they live up to adults' expectations.

We're happy to talk with parents about how our environment can be as beneficial as possible for their children. At the same time, we respect that taking part in activities is always the child's free choice – and even the times they choose not to take part can be an important part of their learning and self-discovery.

If it were important to you that your child takes part in activities at any cost, our events probably won't be a good fit for you. We give priority to respect and voluntariness over pressure and obligation.
