Young Inventors' Day Camp

A day camp for kids aged 6–14 who love thinking and solving tricky problems. We bring them a heap of interesting projects they wouldn't easily get to otherwise, and an environment where even the most demanding brainiacs won't be bored.

The perfect experience for curious, creative kids who love to think, try new things and build their own ideas. For kids who want to understand how technology works – and above all to really play with it.

With us, kids get their hands on technologies they normally wouldn't easily reach: 3D printing, programming microcontrollers, building with Technic LEGO, programming their own games, or working with AI. Our goal is to show kids that these technologies aren't out of reach or complicated – and that getting started is far easier than they'd expect.

Our greatest joy comes from the moments when something „clicks“. At past camps we've seen kids who literally fell in love with programming or building and kept going at home in their free time. Parents were often surprised at how quickly the kids caught on and what talent they have when given the right space.

But one thing matters most to us: that the kids really enjoy it. That's why the programme is built on play, their own ideas and the joy of discovery.

With us, kids dive into their own projects, create alongside like-minded kids, and experience that powerful moment:

„I built this myself – and it works.“

It's exactly this moment that builds healthy pride and confidence in their own ability to create and think – and that's what the kids take home with them. The five-day format also gives kids plenty of time to come back to their ideas, try other variations and gradually improve their projects.

This experience happens because we give kids exactly what they need for real creating:

  • Meaningful parts and building sets. Technic LEGO is our foundation, but we combine it with electronics, 3D printing and other clever tricks. Sometimes we modify components so kids can build things that normally can't be built.
  • Enthusiastic instructors who love to create themselves. They help, ask questions, suggest next steps when something gets stuck, and delight in every „aha moment“.
  • A small group and strong individual attention. Thanks to a ratio of at most 5 kids per instructor, everyone has the space to be seen, heard and genuinely supported. At the same time, collaboration and sharing of ideas between kids arises naturally.
  • A programme that adapts to the kids. If a kid wants to spend several days on one project, they can. If they want to try more things and are still figuring out what grabs them most, we make room for that.

What can the kids look forward to?

The main focus of the programme is playing with technology: programming (often with the help of AI), 3D printing, electronics and building their own devices. At the same time, we make sure the programme is accessible to younger kids too – so there's no shortage of active, creative and light-hearted activities either.

Examples of activities we'll do (we recommend going through these with your kids):

  • Programming with AI. Very individual – kids choose their own projects, e.g.:
    • their own computer game
    • a website or app
    • programming a robot
    • building and programming an Arduino device (like a small tank)
  • 3D printing and designing your own parts
  • Building various remote-controlled devices from Technic LEGO
  • Playing with electronics and soldering
  • Board games (Galaxy Trucker, Cabo, Ticket to Ride and more)
  • Lots of goofing around and active games (NERF battles, lasers…)

Throughout the camp the kids have plenty of things on hand to play with at any time, on their own or with others – building sets (Spintronics, Boffin, LEGO) and a wide selection of board games.

The programme isn't about performance or results. It's about the joy of creating, discovery and the feeling that „I've got this“. And it's exactly this feeling we want the kids to leave the camp with.

Our approach to children

Read this if it's your first time with us – it will help you understand how we think about children and why we do some things differently.

At our events we share with the children our enthusiasm for the things we love, and together we create an inspiring environment. Children can join in whenever they want – we always offer them help, encouragement and room for their own pace and ideas.

But we never force them into anything. We see them as fully-fledged human beings who have the right to decide how they want to spend their time – even if they just want to step aside for a while or rest with a phone or tablet. Our priority is that they feel good and enjoy what they do, not that they live up to adults' expectations.

We're happy to talk with parents about how our environment can be as beneficial as possible for their children. At the same time, we respect that taking part in activities is always the child's free choice – and even the times they choose not to take part can be an important part of their learning and self-discovery.

If it were important to you that your child takes part in activities at any cost, our events probably won't be a good fit for you. We give priority to respect and voluntariness over pressure and obligation.
